The moment Susan Boyle stepped on the stage at Britain’s Got Talent auditions and started to sing, she became an international superstar. Videos of her performance, posted on YouTube, generated thousands of views per hour, which meant that, in just a matter of days, she’d set a record for the number of hits. Now, the Scottish singing sensation is also giving another hopeful the chance of their life by launching an online contest, CBC News informs.

Susan is now working on her second album, the follow-up to the immensely successful – both critically and commercially – debut album, “I Dreamed a Dream.” Not the one to ever forget her so-called humble beginning, the singer has decided to include a duet on the upcoming album with an aspiring singer no one ever heard of before. Consequently, those interested in being that person can go to Susan’s YouTube channel and upload a video of themselves singing “Silent Night.”

“A YouTube video of Susan Boyle’s Britain’s Got Talent debut made her an online singing sensation worldwide, and now she’s looking to give another unknown singer a chance at stardom. Boyle has launched ‘Susan’s Search’ – an international, online campaign to find an unknown singer to join her in a duet for her upcoming second album, The Gift. […] Hopefuls are being asked to upload videos of themselves singing the holiday carol Silent Night to Boyle’s dedicated YouTube channel,” CBC News informs.

“Last year my dream of becoming a recording artist came true after auditioning on Britain’s Got Talent. Since then, I’ve had an absolutely fantastic time. It’s been a real gift to me and now I would like to pass on the gift to someone else… There are a lot of people out there who wouldn’t have the confidence or perhaps the means to enter a big competition like Britain’s Got Talent. So this might be a lot less daunting for some people as they can record the song in the privacy of their own home. I’m hoping that people who have always wanted to sing will give it a try. I wish you all good luck,” Susan herself told her fans in a press statement announcing the launch of the contest.

Those interested in it – and who obviously think they have what it takes to stand next to Susan and sing – can upload their videos until July 16, when the contest closes. The winner will be announced a few days later, on July 26.
