All the clues are there. Now all we need is confirmation from Nintendo.

There is pretty strong evidence that NIGHTS, a video game released by Sega in 1996 for the Sega Saturn video game system, will have its porting quite soon to the Wii. Of course it's not going to be the same old 32 bit NiGHTS, developed by Sonic Team, even if it does happen.

Both Official Nintendo Magazine and GoNintendo try to give hints of the game's implementation on the Nintendo Wii. You know what? They might just be right. Click on the small picture to enlarge. See how the stars match? That's a mighty big coincidence, wouldn't you say? It's almost like that God of War-on-the-PSP hint they gave on the back of the God of War (PS2) manual.

NIGHTS for the Sega Saturn platform revolves around two children entering a dream world in order to prevent the real world being taken over. They need some help from time to time and the one aiding them at each step is the eponymous being NiGHTS, an androgynous flying acrobat. The Sonic team decided to give androgynous NIGHTS a conscious design, wearing a purple jester style hat and outfit, with a diamond on the chest. It's typical for them, though how do you reckon it will be on the Wii? Possibly the same, Nintendo wouldn't mind I'm sure, they have Sonic on their list as well.

Demand for a sequel to NIGHTS Into Dreams was strong for quite some time. A game to be called "Air NiGHTS" was intended to use a tilt sensor in the Saturn analog pad, yet development later moved to the Sega Dreamcast for a time and was later dropped. Maybe they didn't let go of that tilt sensor idea for good. Heck, the motion sensitive control of the Wii sounds even better, wouldn't you say?
