Android users can now access their Steam accounts while on the go, courtesy of an official mobile client that has just landed in the Android Market.

The application is rather new to the official application storefront, but it has already tasted a series of updates aimed at improving its usability.

“Steam for Android lets you check your Steam's public profile. See whether your friends are online or playing a certain game, check your groups updates, or simply peek at the Steam Specials tab to see if there are any interesting discounts on the Steam store,” the app’s description reads.

Users can access a Summary tab, complemented by Friends tab, Groups tab, Games tab, Specials! Tab, and Favorites tab. It also offers a smooth user interface, as well as support for most of the devices that are powered by Android 1.6 or newer OS flavors.
