Mobile phone carrier Sprint is expected to soon bring to the market in the United States a new set of handsets that will provide users with high-end features and capabilities.

Among these, a recent leak names a successor for the already popular Samsung Epic 4G, along with another full-touch 4G-capable handset from the South Korean company, and new BlackBerry phones from Canadian vendor Research In Motion.

Compared to the Samsung Epic 4G, the successor should bring upgraded hardware, such as a 1.2GHZ Hummingbird application processor from the company, but a single-core one, and not the dual-core beast that was packed inside the Galaxy S II smartphone.

The handset would also come with a large 4-inch touchscreen display and with an 8 megapixel camera on the back, as well as the QWERTY keyboard of the predecessor.

All in all, the new device should prove a worthy successor of last year's device, although it might not be able to provide users with hardware similar with what was included with the latest flagship phone from Samsung.

However, the aforementioned full-touch 4G-capable handset might prove to be none other than the previously rumored Samsung Galaxy S II for Sprint, supposedly called Within, but specific info on the matter lacks at the moment.

Both Samsung devices would run under Google's Android operating system, and are expected to arrive on shelves during the third quarter of the year. Moreover, Sprint would launch two new touch-enabled BlackBerry devices in the said time frame, the BlackBerry Bold Touch and Monaco.

Rumor has it that both handsets would arrive at the wireless carrier with GSM global roaming capabilities included into the mix, in addition to support for the CDMA network operated by Sprint.

In addition to these, the carrier might also release a new push-to-talk BlackBerry device on its network, to follow the Curve 8350i, which was launched quite a while ago (Sprint is moving its iDEN services to the CDMA network).

Nothing is confirmed for the time being on any of these handsets, but, since this is not the first time we hear of the upcoming availability of some of them, it might not be too long before things are made official, so stay tuned.
