Soon after announcing their availability on its airwaves, wireless carrier Sprint unveiled the release of new software for its EVO 3D and EVO View 4G devices.

These are only maintenance releases, but there still are a series of goodies packed inside them that should make users rejoice, especially those who will purchase the new tablet PC starting today.

For the new HTC EVO 3D, the new software update 1.13.651.7 comes with a fix for “Calendar entries in certain formats force close while editing.”

The new software will be delivered to users over the air, and they will receive a notification on their devices as soon as the software is available for their specific handsets.

Of course, they can also perform a manual search for the new software through going to Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update.

To check the software version the device runs under, users will need to go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software Information.

The main enhancement the new software 1.22.651.1 brings to the HTC EVO View 4G is the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system.

The release notes for this update also include:

- Google Talk video chat will be disabled until a future release - Fix for 'Mail has stopped unexpectedly' pop-up message - Fixes for Google Maps and Google Navigation

To update the tablet PC, users will need to go to Menu > Settings > System updates > HTC software update. The device will inform them on the availability of any new update.

If a new software is available, users will be able to chose to download it via any data connection, or via WiFi or cable (“You will see a Data fee warning screen; tap Yes,” Sprint notes), and to install it as soon as the download process was completed.

The same as on the EVO 3D, users can check the software version on their devices through going to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software Information.

Additional info on the new software updates and on the installation process can be found on Sprint's website here for the HTC EVO 3D, and here for the HTC EVO View 4G.
