Motorola XPRT is one of the older Android smartphones launched by the US-based handset maker.

The device was initially shipped with Android 2.2 Froyo onboard, but Motorola promised a Gingerbread update will be available at some point.

Well, it looks like Motorola has finally kept its promise, at least for Sprint customers who still own the XPRT device.

The carrier has just announced that an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update is now available for download OTA (over the air).

However, the update might not be available for all Motorola XPRT owners at once, so make sure you check for it regularly.

The following changes are included in this update: Sprint Application Version updates, Email UI fixes, Contact UI fixes, Fix to color backgrounds (remove red), Improve EAS GAL Search, Improve EAS First Sync timing, Fix Forward /Reply markers to original email, SMS fix when using () in SMS body and BT toasts when syncing contacts improved.
