Today, Shazam and Spotify announced that they teamed up to offer both of their services to users of Android and iOS devices. Through the new partnership, Spotify's popular music service will be integrated with Shazam's free and premium Apps for iPhone, iPod touch and Android.

Basically, Shazam users would have the possibility to access Spotify very easily, through a new 'Play in Spotify' feature, so that they could go to the service instantly, to start listening to the full track that they tagged, or which was discovered within Shazam from recommendations or the Shazam charts.

“Great news, Spotify is now available for Shazam’s premium Apps on iPhone, iPod touch – including (SHAZAM)RED - and Android,” Spotify announced via a recent post on their website.

“Just tap the new “Play in Spotify” feature to go direct from Shazam to our Spotify Mobile app where you can immediately listen to the full track and explore more music from the tagged artist.”

Users of Shazam and Spotify would benefit from full playback of tracks through a greatly integrated experience on the free and premium applications that Shazam offers to Android and Apple's iOS devices.

The new feature was announced as being integrated with the Spotify Premium App in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France, Spain and the Netherlands.

“It’s now even easier to get instant satisfaction for those times when you want to know the track that is playing and then learn more about the artist. Just touch to Shazam and then play in Spotify. Click here for more information on downloading Shazam for your phone,” Spotify continues.

According to Shazam, the free application, which was limited to only five tags per month, is set to receive the new feature in the first quarter of the ongoing year.

Users of premium Apps Shazam Encore and (SHAZAM) RED would receive access to the new feature starting with today, being able to “combine their ability to access unlimited tagging with the new 'Play in Spotify' feature for an unparalleled and unrestricted mobile music discovery and streaming service.”
