Spice Mobile, the handset division of Spice Communications Limited, has recently announced the upcoming Indian release of a new m-commerce mobile phone named Spice S-707n.

Spice S-707n is a candybar that comes with a simple design, hence it's made to be as user-friendly as possible. The phone's highlight is its ngpay feature, which allows users to pay bills, shop online, make reservations for Railway, Bus and Airline tickets, make bank transactions, book hotel rooms and more - all directly from the phone.

M-commerce capabilities aside, Spice S-707n is also a multimedia phone, as it comes with the following features: Music player, FM radio, stereo Bluetooth and a photo camera that seems to have 2 Megapixels. Furthermore, the S-707n brings GSM connectivity with GRPS, Opera Mini browser for a good mobile Web experience, email capabilities and advanced SMS features (Scheduler, SMS Search & Delete, SMS Auto Responder). The dimensions of the new Spice candybar were not unveiled, but the available images with it suggest that the handset is pretty thin.

Spice Mobile offers the new S-707n for a very attractive retail price: 5,299 INR, meaning about 134 USD or 78 Euros. The exact release date of S-707n was not announced, but Indian users should expect the phone to hit the market in the next few weeks.

The m-commerce S-707n comes after another interesting handset was announced by Spice Mobile: the D-1100 dual-SIM PDA, which is priced at 16,999 INR (almost $400 or 250 Euros).

Besides Spice Mobile, Spice Communications Ltd. also owns Spice Telecom, the eighth largest mobile operator in India (currently serving more than 4.2 million users). This will allow the company to offer its handsets (including the new S-707n) directly to consumers, without the help of third parties.
