If you are one of the many people who enjoyed the movie Speed Racer, or one of the extremely numerous fans of the anime, you will definitely be excited to hear about Warner Bros' decision to release the video game version of the saga, too. However, unlike the two other episodes, Speed Racer: The Videogame will not feature the whole story, since it will mainly focus on the most interesting and adrenaline-pumping element of them all: racing.

The PS2 version will be released this fall, at the same time with the DVD variant of the movie, and it will bring you 25 adversaries to compete against in the World Racing League, while challenging you to master rollercoaster-like tracks (something similar to the Trackmania Nations Forever game). There are no details about that, but The Crucible will probably make its way into the game, too.

The title will bring racing fans lots of innovative and exciting features, such as the funnily named Car-Fu combat which allows you to hit, smash and fight against other cars on the track. Most of the characters from the movie will be present in the game, including Speed Racer and the Mach 6 or Cannonball Taylor and the GRX, along with brand new unlockable ones (Chim-Chim) or cars (Trixie's T180 race car). Racing fans will be glad to hear that the original cast (Emile Hirsch, Matthew Fox and Christina Ricci) will also offer the voice acting in Speed Racer: The Videogame.

If you want to have more details, here they are: we'll get 18 tracks and six environments, including a brand new, 13 mile-long Skorost track; we'll all be able to use "The Zone" in-game and reach incredible speeds of up to 500 MPH, make powerful alliances with other drivers to increase our chance to win the championship and, the cherry on top: an original soundtrack created exclusively for the game by Winifred Phillips, mixing rock, classical and retro beats to offer us a unique experience.
