South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is readying the launch of a new Android-based device in its homeland this week, the Galaxy U (SHW-M130L). The new handset is expected to make it to the market on the airwaves of wireless carrier LG U+, while packing a nice range of features and capabilities, as its maker has just announced officially.
It seems that the Samsung Galaxy U for LG U+ is set to arrive on shelves in two color versions, namely black and white, and that the wireless carrier would have it priced at 800,00 won ($682).
When it comes to the specifications list the new
mobile phone would come around with, we can count a 1GHz S5PC111 processor, which should play nicely with Google's Android 2.1 OS Samsung preloaded on it.
A 3.7-inch AMOLED Plus touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixels resolution and support for 16M colors is also included into the mix, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and 720p HD video recording features.
The Samsung

On the connectivity side, we can also count Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The handset comes with multimedia features too, including support for MP, 3GP, 3GPP, K3G, Divx, Avi, Mkv, flv, asf video formats and for MP3, WAV, WMA, OGG, AAC, MID, MIDI, FLAC audio files.
Galaxy U features T-DMB, and should offer users the possibility to add up to 32GB of additional storage space into the equation via microSD memory card slot (an 8GB card is included in the box).
Among the other specs of
the device, we can count an 1500mAh battery (can offer up to 7 hours of talk time or up to 370 hours of standby time), as well as features like OZ Store, Kyobo e-book, Daum maps, Allshare, Live wallpapers, and access to Google services.
Samsung Galaxy U measures 119.5 x 59.6 x 12.4mm and weighs in at 131g.
