It turns out that the assumptions we made about the Bose SoundLink Air speaker were true: it really is a wireless audio device capable of linking to consumer electronics.

The Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch get a special mention here, since Bose is a well-established manufacturer of iDevice-compatible hardware.

Nevertheless, when the Aux in port comes into play, music can be streamed from other devices as well. The only condition is for the source device to support Wi-Fi.

Whichever the case, an infrared remote control, included in the package, can be used with the product.

The photo above shows what the SoundLink Air looks like, and how large it is compared to smartphones.

The other picture is of the SoundLink Bluetooth, which, obviously, relies on Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi.

The price is of $349.95 / 271-349 Euro for each, although the version of the Bluetooth model with a dark gray nylon cover is cheaper, at $299.95 / 232 Euro.
