Company spokesmen just love teasing the press don't they? Well, it is the only way they can answer back for all the BS that is sometimes written about them. Sony's Game Developers Conference on Wednesday should bring up some pretty neat details about various aspects of the 23 March launch of the PS3 in Europe. Until then, spokesmen of the company making the PS3, prepare the "atmosphere" with a rather teasing statement:

"Phil Harrison's keynote presentation, 'Game 3.0: Developing and Creating for the 3rd Age of Videogames,' will kick off the conference on March 7th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PST. The speech will focus on the key components of Game 3.0 -- community, user-generated content, collaboration and commerce-all highlighted through live demonstrations of previously un-announced services and games for PlayStation3."

Now, if you were wondering what is the juicy stuff everyone is expecting from Phil Harrison's statement, here it is: -first of all, Sony's worldwide president will be talking about the last firmware update, v. 1.54, which brings rather few improvements and adding features; -then, in probably the most important part of the interview, Harrison will comment on the terms of launch for the PS3 in Europe and other PAL territories; who knows, maybe he will even announce another PS2 game's compatibility with the new console, raising the number of compatible games to 1001(just kidding); -actually, what everybody is anxiously waiting for is some info on the new PlayStation Network service Sony has recently announced, becoming available at the same time with the PAL PS3 launch, which is thought to bring something like a PS Home, or My Domain/My Space.

The reason for this anxiousness is because of the very teasing statements coming from Sony. Nobody knows for sure what it is going to be about, leaving a lot of room for speculation. The GDC will reveal more tomorrow.
