Xperia M, the Android-based smartphone that Sony Mobile made official earlier this month, is expected to make an official appearance on shelves in the UK starting with August, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The new device should be in stock at The Carphone Warehouse starting with that month, it seems, though no specific info on the release date or pricing has been provided as of now.

However, as UnwiredView notes, online retailer Handtec has already priced the new device, listing it at £227.99 ($355 / €268) in all four color versions unveiled for it, namely black, white, purple, and yellow (lime).

Xperia M will arrive on the market with a 4-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display, a 1GHz dual-core processor inside, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, 1 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and front camera for video calling.

Packing a 1750 mAh battery, WiFi, HSPA, Bluetooth, and NFC, the handset runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform.
