Beside the new MDR-Z1000 Professional Monitor Headphone and MDR-ZX Series Headphones we've already talked about yesterday, Sony's also announced the launch of the MDR-EX Series, designed specifically for users who spend a lot of time on the go.

We've already talked a bit about the Sony MDR-EX1000 headphones, the flagship model in the MDR-EX Series, a while ago, when these headphones made their official debut on the US market, but it's nevertheless very good to hear that they'll be bringing them to Europe as well.

The EX1000 are the types of audio accessories serious audiophiles might certainly go for, given the fact that they come equipped with a Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) film diaphragm and a newly developed 16mm driver unit.

Furthermore, the EX1000 has been equipped with a magnesium housing that cuts down weight for a higher level of comfort during use, the same goal being attained with the help of the over-the-ear cord design and silicone/urethane earbuds.

The MDR-EX1000 also delivers a 3-30,000 Hz frequency range, 3 ohm impedance, as well as a gold-plated audio connector.

The next model in the EX series is the MDR-EX510LP, sporting a vertical in-the-ear design, accompanied by 13.5mm driver units, as well as a brand-new multiple-layer diaphragm that manages to seriously improve the level of audio quality offered by this audio solution.

Additionally, the EX Series also includes the colorful EX50 and EX40 models, designed for a more mainstream crowd, as well as the new DR-EX12iP model, designed specifically to be used with Apple devices and featuring, for this exact purpose, an in-line remote for fingertip control of player functions and volume.

Similar to the Sony headphones we've talked about yesterday, the EX Series headphones from Sony will be available across Europe starting from March 2011, with pricing depending strictly on the local markets.
