As we've said time and time again up until now (and will most likely do so again over the next few days), Sony's CES 2011 lineup has been quite an impressive one, including, beside all those Full HD 3D camcorders and TV sets, a brand-new wireless audio system called HomeShare. The new HomeShare products allow users to listen to music from their DLNA device or Sony Blu-ray Disc players over Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and include two wireless network speakers (SA-N300 and SA-N400), two Wi-Fi network iPhone docks (NAS-SV20i and NAC-SV10i), as well as a new Wi-Fi universal remote (RMN-U1) that can be used to control this entire system.

As Sony informs us, their new HomeShare solution can stream music from a PC or an online music service to to a BD player, home theater system or docking solution, using just the home Wi-Fi network in order to do so.

The first two products that make up the system, the SA-NS400 and SA-NS300 speakers wireless network speakers, feature a 360 degree directional speaker design for clear audio and will be available in March for 300 and 200 US dollars, respectively.

Next in line comes the HomeShare NAS-SV20i speaker dock that allows users to play back music directly from BRAVIA Internet music services or from an Apple iPhone/iPod Touch, followed by the NAC-SV10i dock, that connects to a home theater system, but also docks the aforementioned Apple mobile devices.

Both models offer PartyStreaming functionality and will arrive in stores in March, selling for $300 and $230.

Last, but certainly not least, comes the $300 HomeShare RMN-U1 Wi-Fi universal remote control, a touch-screen model that can control audio products and certain new Sony connected BRAVIA televisions and Blu-ray Disc devices via DLNA, delivering activity-based control of home theaters and the ability to sent music through a home network to HomeShare speakers.

“You can now access music from your PC or Internet music service from a number of Sony home theater devices already on the market in any room wirelessly without complicated set up or being tied to an expensive system,” said Brian Siegel, vice president of Sony Electronics’ home audio and video business.

With a compatibility base of millions of devices already on the market and more coming soon, HomeShare is one of the most flexible wireless music systems on the market,” Mr. Siegel concluded.
