Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson announced a few months ago the launch of its Windows Mobile-based Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 handset, and was expected to deliver it to the market ever since November 2009, but it is only now that enthusiasts can grab the appealing device for their own. The phone seems to have been delayed for a while due to some software issues, yet those eagerly expecting it to land on shelves can now rejoice knowing that the wait is over.[ADMARk=1]

The handset can be seen at the moment available for purchase online here, featuring a price tag of US$ 753.99 (around 500 Euros) which one should agree that does not appeal too much. However, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is also expected to become available through a series of carriers around the world, and those willing to wait a little more will probably get it with subsidized price tags from them.

UK users should receive the XPERIA X2 in the country via wireless carrier Vodafone, which was expected to launch it two months ago and still has it tagged with “coming soon” on its website, pointing towards January as the launch time frame. One way or the other, it shouldn't be too long before X2 arrives on the market via operators too, providing users with a wider range of purchase options.

The mobile phone sports a full sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel photo snapper, and the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system onboard. Compared to the XPERIA X1, the new device is an appealing upgrade, even if it arrives a little late to the party. The handset sports the same XPERIA Panels approach as its predecessor, yet we should mention that the handset vendor has focused more on the development of applications with the new device, so the overall user experience should be greatly enhanced.
