Sony Ericsson chooses its leaders among the competition

Sony Ericsson has just made an important hire and added a new member to their team. The surprising thing about it is that their new acquisition actually worked for LG for a long time.

LG Mobile's former head of marketing John Bernard has joined Sony Ericsson in a senior global marketing role in order to add his efforts to the ones that this company has made for increasing their handset sales.

Sony Ericsson surely knows what it's doing when choosing to hire one of the competition's leading men. John Bernard had been working for LG for three years, but he recently resigned and was on hold for a period of time. His experience is a surely valuable one, as this man is responsible for the Prada and Chocolate launches and he is also the one who has signed Coleen McLoughlin for the Chocolate's marketing campaign.

All this background turned him into one of the favorites in the race for Sony Ericsson's global marketing director position. His work will be seen in a third line of phones that the company plans on launching, aside from its Walkman and Cybershot devices. The company has limited to say that he will be working on some "fashion phones", which are set for a speedy release until Christmas, this year.

The fact that Sony Ericsson, the fourth worldwide mobile phone producer, has decided to take in someone coming from a company which is lower classed is not surprising at all. LG's Chocolate phones are the best sold devices coming from this company and also have benefited from one of the best marketing campaigns. John Bernard has been involved in both these processes, which gives him an experience difficult to surpass by means of job applications coming from any other person. Sony Ericsson's new global marketing director will start work first thing on Monday morning.
