Sony Ericsson Romania Announces Smile Hunt Round 2

Sony Ericsson Romania announced on Tuesday a new round of the Smile Hunt campaign, the winner of which will be selected to represent the country at the international Smile Hunt competition. Romanian mobile phone users who own a Sony Ericsson Cybershot handset can join the competition with photographs taken with the camera on their device.

According to the company, ten of the best images Romanian users will come up with are to be selected and receive a prize, while the final winner is to become Romania's ambassador at the Smile Hunt contest. In addition, the winner will also receive a C905 mobile phone with Smile Shutter technology, along with two VIP tickets to one of the highly expected concerts to take place in 2009 in Romania. At the international Smile Hunt competition, the ambassador will provide photos taken at the event.

Any Smile Hunter willing to enter the competition will have to come up with photographs of unique smiles, while the biggest challenge is to take as many snapshots of as many smiles as possible, all using the camera on the Sony Ericsson handset. In addition, contestants will also have to provide details on each and every smile immortalized.

The competition will bring together contestants from more than 40 countries around the globe. All photos will need to be posted on a specific site dedicated to the competition, and some of them will be selected to represent the Smile Hunt campaign, says Sony Ericsson. The Smile Shutter technology automatically detects and highlights the best smile in a photo, and handsets in the Cybershot series, like the C905 or C510, include the technology.

In Romania, the authors of the 10 best smile shots will receive one Sony Ericsson C510 mobile phone each. The competition kicks off on May 1 and will end August 1, and requires for each contestant to post smile photos on the company's dedicated site under the 'Become a Smile Ambassador' section.
