Sony Ericsson Paris P5i Still Haunting Us

The P5i is probably making now a last impression on the audience before it disappears for good. Watching this recently surfaced video review, and especially the way it was made, sort of leaves us wishing for more, although we can’t know for certain whether this device will never be released, or when, if at all. In any case, for Sony's loyal fans or anyone who's interested, the two videos below are surely worth watching.
A surprising thing, and definitely a question most of us would like answered, is how this one reviewer ever came to own this mobile, given that it shouldn’t even exist anymore, except in Sony Ericsson's prototype archive perhaps. We also know that all testers of this Sony Ericsson were supposed to return the device once cancellation was approved, or suffer the consequences. This was happening a while ago, several months even, so if this rule wasn't respected, how come we haven't heard anything so far? Come to think of it, maybe finding the answer to the above question does not matter all that much, now that we have this presentation to watch.
The reviewer claims that this device is actually the successor of the highly appreciated P1i, and comes with UIQ 3.3, QWERTY keypad and a touchscreen display. Other features include a 5 Megapixel camera, Google Maps, track ID and a micro card slot. Adding to that the GPS and Wi-Fi support, the P5i could have become the best Symbian UIQ3-operated mobile. These are just some of the specs, but, even so, the phone still manages to impress to a great extent.
It would be pretty weird if the Paris gained lots of fans now, months after it was canceled – however, after watching that video, maybe it would not be too surprising. Had all that we see been the real features, then it’s clear that this mobile could have had a very bright future ahead of it.
I waited and waited for this mobile to come out when i was looking for a successor for my p1i. But nothing was hear. Nothing of the cancellation or anything. Just these last remaining reviews and demo tours in youtube.
This mobile with integrated accelerometer cud be the mobile which was truely all in one. SE cud have become the market leader in 2008 if this was to be released.
But the Symbian UIQ UI was canceled for the more popular S60 altogether when the Symbian Consortium was formed as Nokia was more popular. But that sud have not lead to the end of this great looking model. It was in a class of its own.
This is a leaving proof that the management in SE is one of the most incompiteant fools.
