Soon after the rumor regarding Sony Ericsson's mid-level phones, the Shinobu and Nicole, that are supposedly on their way to being unveiled, now there is some information on a more advanced device, the P700i.

Judging by the fact that it's from the P series, this handset should be worth the wait and will definitely pack some very impressive features. While its name includes a lower number than the P990i, the last handset released in the P series, this doesn't mean it will bring less features.

Actually, it would be unreasonable for Sony Ericsson to release phones from the P series with a higher number. Since they've already released the P990, the next thing to do would be dubbing a phone P1000, and most of us can agree on four digits being too much for a handset.

Rumors go as far as to claim that the P700i might be the Elena, the new and improved version of the M600i that people are waiting for. Apparently, Sony Ericsson might be releasing the Elena as the P700i, since it has a camera, and keeping the camera-less upgraded versions of the M600i in the M series that is meant to mainly target business users.

The P700i was revealed by an XML user-agent profile from the Sony Ericsson site and according to it, the handset will be packing a QVGA resolution color screen, QWERTY keyboard, support for GSM, GPRS, WCDMA and Direct Push. This is the first time any info surfaces on a future P700i, thus there aren't that many details available. But knowing that most Sony Ericsson mobile phones usually get unveiled before their launch, some leaked blurry pics and more rumors regarding its specs should show up pretty soon.
