Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is expected to bring to the market in the near future new devices running under Google's Android operating system, and a Cyber-shot smartphone is reportedly among them. This year, the handset vendor unveiled a nice range of new mobile phones powered by Android, but it seems that more of them are expected to arrive on shelves in the not too far future.

The said Android-powered Cyber-shot smartphone has just made an appearance into the wild in a blurry photo, courtesy of Xperia blog.

While there are not too many details available to extract from the said image, the Cyber-shot logo can be seen on the phone's front, suggesting that it might indeed be included in the said series.

Moreover, the blog post notes that there are three buttons at the bottom of the phone's front, which would suggest that it would run under Google's Android operating system.

However, the Home, Back and Menu buttons on the handset's front are the only hints at the operating system it would run under.

The mobile phone would also include a large touchscreen display, though specific info on its size or resolution are not available for the time being.

No image with the handset's back emerged either, and there are no details available on the photo snapper the phone would sport.

Rumor has it that Sony Ericsson might pack a mobile Exmor R sensor with the camera, for great picture quality, as well as flash, auto focus and support for HD video recording capabilities.

For the time being, however, we'll take the info on this device with a grain of salt, since it might all turn out to be nothing more than a rumor.

However, given Sony Ericsson's commitment to Google's Android we wouldn't be surprised if the company indeed delivered to shelves a new Cyber-shot smartphone running under the OS.
