Harmonix and MTV Games, the two companies in charge of the Rock Band music simulation franchise, have announced that today players will be able to get new downloadable content for the series that features one of the biggest hip hop stars in the world, Snoop Dogg.

Players who game on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii will be able to get eight tracks from the artist, showcasing some of his best known songs and making him the first artist from his music genre to be feature in the popular series.

“That’s Tha Homie” is taken from the “Malice in Wonderland” album and joined by “Beautiful” from “Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$”.

There are two tracks taken from “Doggystyle”, namely “Tha Shiznit” and “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and one from “The Doggfather”, “Snoop’s Upside Ya Head.”

“Drop It Like It’s Hot”, “Ridin’ In My Chevy” and “Sensual Seduction” from “Ego Trippin’” are also present in the DLC package.

Snoop Dogg is the recipient of 12 Grammy Awards for his various albums and was also received recognition from MTV, Rolling Stone, Billboard, BET and The Source.

Those who are interested in the entire Snoop Dogg Pack 01 for Rock Band will be able to get it for 13.49 dollars on the PlayStation 3 and 1,080 Microsoft Points.

Players can also get the individual tracks for 200 Wii Points, 1.99 dollars or 160 Microsoft Points.

When the announcement was made Snoop Dogg stated, “I consider myself an OG gamer, and to be chosen as the first hip hop artist to appear in Rock Band...well, it doesn't get any better than that, ya dig?!?”

He added, “I know my fans gonna get down with tha Pound with this one and tha youngsters really gonna realize who started this gamerish, u hear me?!?”
