Bethesda has just deployed the Creation Kit for its massively successful The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim role playing game, as well as an official high resolution texture pack that is available as free downloadable content via Steam on the PC.

Skyrim impressed millions of people with its great gameplay and story, but many PC owners were more excited about its support for user generated mods.

Now, after a lengthy wait, the studio has finally launched the Creation Kit, a set of tools that should make the modding process that much easier.

Besides the mod tools, Bethesda also released a free batch of downloadable content for Skyrim on the PC, in the form of an official high resolution texture pack.

Before you start downloading it, however, the studio warns that players should meet the recommended system specifications for Skyrim. These include a Windows Vista or 7 operating system, 4GB of RAM, a video card compatible with DirectX 9.0c that has 1GB of RAM, and the latest graphics drivers.

What's more, make sure you have plenty of free hard drive space, as the DLC weighs in at 3.1GB .

In celebration of the release of the Creation Kit and High Resolution Texture Pack, Bethesda is also offering discount for Skyrim on Steam, slashing its price by 33% until Thusday.

In PC we get always better graphics, consoles are more limited in hardware.
Its not against console players, its just a normal limitation. But Bethesda is always looking for all the players.

Shut up commanderdemon.. If you buy a crappy gaming machine and an amazing game comes out that barely runs on it that was made to be glorious on the pc, why would anyone not make content with high res textures that looks amazing... to bad for the suckers on the consoles that can't enjoy it's beauty...of course every developer is playing on the pc..it cost 5 times as much and looks 10x better..lol

well 1, pc can handle good graphics, unlike those 5 year old consoles you play on.
and 2, most people actually play, or at least bought, the pc version which is way better
