Skyfire Labs, the developer behind the popular Skyfire browser, has just announced that it has updated its Android product to version 3.0.1. While this is only a minor version update, it still brings a few new features and many bug fixes.

After the company decided to phase out its original Skyfire 1.0 product for Symbian and Windows Mobile devices and focus all its resources on developing Skyfire for iOS and Android, new updates were to be expected in such a short time.

Mostly based on the feedback received from Android users that have installed Skyfire 3.0, the new iteration of the browser adds new features and addresses several bugs.

The full changelog of the Skyfire 3.0.1 for Android is detailed below:

Move to SD Card: One of the most requested features for FroYo (Android OS 2.2) and later devices. Users can move the application to an SD card to free up storage space with just one click. The new feature can be found in “Manage Applications” under “Settings” menu.

Improved Download Workflow: The downloading process will be hidden in background and notifications will be automatically placed in the system tray.

Upload file: Users with Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and later devices will now be able to upload files from within the browser.

Crash Reporting: Even though Skyfire 3.0 for Android is very stable, there are still some infrequent crashes. With Skyfire 3.0.1, the developer made it very easy for users to send anonymous logs, so that it can address these bugs faster. If Skyfire crashes, the next time it is launched, users will be prompted to send the logs to Skyfire Labs.

Skyfire 3.0.1 for Android is available as a free download from the Android Market. The application is compatible with devices running Android 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2.
