Skyfire just announced that they are expanding the availability of their award-winning PC Web experience mobile browser to Canada. Now Canadians can watch live sports like NHL hockey, NBA basketball, or use their favorite music and video services on their PCs, as free downloads on the developer's website.

It is the first browser software for Windows Mobile which can view Adobe Flash content and streaming video. Skyfire differs from most mobile browsers in that the webpage is fully rendered by a server separate from the mobile device, similar to the operation of a thin client.

The only mobile browser to support all Web 2.0 technologies, including full Flash, Ajax, QuickTime and more, Skyfire has been bringing the full PC Web to US users on the go since the launch in February 2008. Now with Skyfire, Canadians will be able to access the exact same Web that they usually see from a desktop right on their Windows Mobile or Symbian S60 Smartphones.

With Skyfire, Canadians can fully experience some of the country’s most popular sites, like CBC, Facebook, NHL or even YouTube.

“Skyfire users love being able to browse media rich sites like MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, and ESPN,” said CMO Adam Sexton. “Our users prove that with Skyfire, mobile web browsing is very similar to PC Web browsing. We are pleased to bring Skyfire to Canada so that users there can use their mobile phones to visit sites that take full advantage of everything Web 2.0 has to offer.”

Therefore, Canada becomes the first country outside the US to get full access to the exact same PC-like Internet experience on their mobile phones including Flash, Ajax and Silverlight.

Skyfire is currently in open beta on the Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile platforms and available as a free download on the developer's website.
