Once it is out

Ubisoft has not even launched the remade, re-imagined Prince of Persia and it's already talking about the downloadable content which the title is due to receive when it is out. Some of the company’s statements point to the fact that it might be thinking of bringing an entire prequel sequence to players digitally, with no boxed copy.

Ben Mattes, a game producer working for Ubisoft, told Gamersyde in a video feature that “We certainly have plans for downloadable content, we can't really say more than that right now. The intention is to do downloadable content that adds significant value, so I don't think you'll see downloadable content of a new skin or a new weapon or something like that”. He made sure to clearly state that all the DLC is still being discussed by Ubisoft and that, at the moment, there's no clear date for a release.

The new Prince is trying to stop an evil corruption from destroying his land but there's no time control to use. He gets a new companion, princess Elika, and a wizard due to help the main character by battling foes and by leading him through certain portions of the game. The foes are designed to be bigger and more dangerous than the ones in the previous games.

The new Prince of Persia is scheduled to be released for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on December 5 and a PC version of the game is expected to come after a week. The game uses the same graphics engine as in Assassin's Creed, while implementing a cell shaded look which is proving to be controversial amongst the fans of the Sands of Time series, which made up the previous portion of the adventures of the Prince. Ubisoft seems to see the game as the beginning of a fresh Prince oriented series, perhaps a new trilogy.
