Friends say this is a marriage of convenience

Yesterday, new reports emerged about the alleged affair of singer and actress LeAnn Rimes with “Northern Lights” married co-star Eddie Cibrian. As it turns out, they did go out on dates, and were involved romantically, no matter how much they denied it. Now, the friends and family of LeAnn’s husband also offer an explanation as to why she might have cheated on him: he is not into women, to put it lightly.

The scandal that has ripped Hollywood apart, of whether LeAnn Rimes is a “homewrecker” or not, as she’s been labeled by the media, has just gone up another notch. Sheremet, it seems, a former backup dancer that LeAnn married in 2002 after one year of dating, might not be interested in women at all, which would make for a marriage of convenience. At least, that’s what Dean’s friends and family from back home are saying on a Michigan radio show.

Apparently, most of them knew about this ever since Dean was just five. Moreover, a cousin adds, they were even taking bets on when he would eventually muster the courage to come out – since he did not, on the contrary, he even got married, they decided to out him willy-nilly. “I mean, there were so many situations that happened when we were teenagers… The family literally used to take bets on what age he would come out, and then all of the sudden he got married!” cousin Pebbles shares on the show.

According to reports in the US media, Pebbles was not the only one to phone in on the show and testify that Dean was not romantically interested in his wife LeAnn, or any other woman on the face of the planet for that matter. Friends he used to know back in high school also called to confirm that, indeed, if LeAnn cheated on him, he would probably not mind that, since he did not love her that way, in more or less words.

The LeAnn Rimes scandal began earlier this week, when Us Weekly ran a story according to which she was cheating on her husband with Eddie Cibrian, who was also married and a new dad. Both denied all allegations almost immediately, saying the story was taken out of context and whatever photos the magazine had were either fakes or taken from the set of the film. Yesterday, Us Weekly came up with a video of the two on a date, acting very much like lovers would, and thus confirming they were having an affair.

Ironically enough, it has been pointed out, Dean Sheremet’s response to the video of his wife kissing her co-star and nibbling at his neck was a Twitter post that only said, “I love my wife!!!
