Fear not, it's a coincidence, it's not a movie tie-in

Strutting all the way from good, old Europe, Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper will make its way to North American Xbox 360s in no time at all. Under JoWooD Entertainment and Dreamcatcher's supervision and carrying "The Adventure Company" signature, the novel adaptation by Focus Home Interactive will take us on a journey of mystery and a challenge in detective work that can lead to the capture of the world's most famous serial killer.

"Our brand – 'The Adventure Company' (TAC) – has seen increasing turnovers over the past years, which mainly derives from world-wide releases of successful branded products such as Sam&Max, Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes," Stefan Berger, the head of Publishing at JoWooD Entertainment, said. "Our goal now is to continue to strengthen and improve the TAC brand internationally, and to keep pushing toward increased development and distribution of high-quality titles in the Adventure genre."

Berger concluded by saying that, "Our subsidiary Dreamcatcher is working hard to cover the entire market and position the product for North America, and is really the driving force behind our great success in this territory." Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper has already been launched in Europe for quite some time now, and it has received mostly positive reviews. The game has proven to be a solid adventure experience, with plenty of mysteries and puzzles that you could expect Holmes to come across.

Going back to London of 1888, the title takes us to the district of Whitechapel, where a series of brutal murders has started taking place. As you put on the detective's famous mantle and hat, it will be up to you to investigate these murders, find the leads and collect the evidence that will finally lead you to none other than Jack the Ripper. While it may seem a bit over the top, an invincible, fictive detective is without a doubt the best adversary against the never-captured serial killer that is believed to have given birth to modern society.
