A new snowboarding game might be made

The Nintendo Wii is certainly a very innovative console, especially because of its unique features, like motion sensitivity or the very different controllers, in the form of the Wii Remote or the Nunchuk. But a new peripheral, the Balance Board, has been adopted by quite a lot of users, thanks to the fact that it is bundled with the very popular Wii Fit title, which has registered massive sales.

The fact that the balance board is so innovative made quite a lot of game developers classify it as just a gimmick, made only for Wii Fit, but Ubisoft decided that the accessory had a lot of potential, and launched a game in order to use the balance board to the maximum. It partnered with snowboarding star Shaun White and launched Shaun White Snowboarding in November this year for a variety of consoles, not only for the Wii.

Although the game is pretty solid in terms of gameplay, it wasn't met with a lot of anticipation on other consoles, with the big sales being recorded only on the Wii, where it was expected to deliver a very fun experience. But since it registered some very decent sales, rumors have emerged about a possible sequel. These rumors were confirmed by Shaun White himself, who said in a recent interview that, because of his experience with the first game, he would work more efficiently for the sequel.

Although the star’s words were almost like a confirmation, Ubisoft now comes with a statement in which it says that the future of the Shaun White Snowboarding franchise isn't planned yet. This message, while it doesn't completely deny the possibility of a sequel, is quite normal, as Ubisoft wants to make sure that a new game will be well received by fans, thus ensuring a profit for the company.

Until we get a concrete confirmation, gamers can still enjoy the first Shaun White Snowboarding game on almost any console, and envision themselves on the most famous ski and snowboarding slopes across the world.
