There are plenty of accessories designed specifically for Apple's iPad out there, but the Seal Shield Silver Blue Wireless Keyboard really manages to draw one's attention, given the fact that it promises germ-free operation.

Let's face it, the iPad is used in all sorts of environments nowadays, from schools to offices to hospitals, some of which (especially from the latter category) are pretty much filled with germs and bacteria.

And in order to mitigate this problem, Seal Shield has unveiled the Silver Blue Bluetooth wireless keyboard and case for the iPad, that has been manufactured from medical grade silicone, whose properties include a higher level of resilience to liquids, such as blood and other chemicals typically encountered in hospitals.

But that's not all, since the Silver Blue also features a special coating, namely a silver based, antimicrobial additive that offers an enhanced level of protection against mold, mildew, fungi and microbial bacteria growth, preventing them from growing on the surface of the keyboard.

For the time being, the new Bluetooth V2.0 keyboard for the iPad comes with a built-in folio case, as well as an included rechargeable Lithium power pack, that should offer it around 100 days of stand-by time (no data on just how long it will last while in use, though).

Moreover, the company claims that the overall look of these Bluetooth keyboard/iPad case is actually a fairly elegant one, but we'll have to take that with a grain of salt until they decide to release an official photo of this thing (hopefully soon).

Pricing for the new Silver Blue germ-free Bluetooth wireless keyboard/case for iPad from Seal Shield has been set at around $89.99, which is not exactly a very high sum, especially taking into account the higher level of protection it provides for users who're forced to spend most of their time in an environment where germs and bacteria are abundant.
