Now that Robert Pattinson is heartbroken and probably a bit lost because Kristen Stewart cheated on him with a married man almost 4 years into their relationship, the Church of Scientology thinks it's the perfect moment to get him to join in.

Recent reports online note that Scientology has taken quite a hit because of Tom Cruise's divorce from Katie Holmes, which happened more or less because she willed it, so its leaders might be looking for someone to replace him as the unofficial “face” of the church.

Considering that Pattinson is probably one of the most famous (and popular) male stars of his generation and especially thinking that he might be easily influenced right now, they're thinking he could be Tom's replacement, the Enquirer writes in its latest print issue (story via CB).

Kirstie Alley lives next to him and she's believed to have already made the first move to get the handsome British actor to join the ranks of Scientology.

“Eyewitness told The Enquirer that a white Lexus Hybrid SUV belonging to Kirstie entered Pattinson’s property on July 25 – the same day he reportedly broke up with Kristen Stewart after she was caught cheating with Rupert Sanders. When the Lexus left at 4:30 pm, the vehicle went directly to Scientology’s Celebrity Center in Hollywood,” the tab writes.

Sources say that they did not get a good look at the driver, but they believe it was a woman. She was probably escorting Rob to the Center to be audited on his recent heartache.

If Scientology got Robert, it would certainly boost its profile and thus help lure in more members, Amy Scobee, a former high-ranking Scientologist, says for the same publication.

“The Church of Scientology would love to have Rob in the fold. He’s the ideal candidate for Scientology,” she says.

“The Church believes that everyone has a situation they can help them with, and they prey on people in their weak moments. Since he’s going through a bad breakup, it would be perfect timing for them to step in and 'help.' And if Kirstie’s a friend and neighbor, he might listen to her,” Scobee adds.

If the above report is accurate, this means that Robert was never really “hiding out” at Reese Witherspoon's ranch as speculated earlier.
