3 Sprockets, a small mobile device developer, just announced the release of its new DoodleGeddon game for Apple iPad. The new title is a fast paced missile arcade style game, where players have to tap asteroids that are threatening to hit the Earth.

The game challenges players defend earth against a massive asteroid onslaught, by destroying them with the help of advanced missiles.

Players can spawn missile silos around the planet and tap on incoming asteroids to target and destroy them.

At first glance, this may sound simple, but bear in mind that each asteroid that hits the Earth will kill off a percentage of your population.

When the Earth's population hits zero, it’s game over and the end of humanity.

To buy missile silos you will need to get some resources first, which are building over time. To buy a new Missile Silo, you will have to spend 100 resources, or 100 resources to clear rubble from a destroyed Silo.

Further, players will be able to target and destroy Satellites to gain defensive shields or target and destroy UFOs to arm their disruptor cannons for a mega blast to knock out more asteroids at once.

Do you have what it takes? Can you make it past wave 30 and save the world from destruction?

Some of the key features of the game include:

DoodleGeddon has full OpenFeint support for Leaderboards and Achievements in the future;

DoodleGeddon updates will also include challenges with your friends;

DoodleGeddon also has full game statistics tracking and will save your game state between sessions;

Select and play your own music from your iPad music collection;

Choose music from your iPod library to accompany the DoodleGeddon.

DoodleGeddon for iPad should be available starting this week and can be downloaded from the iTunes AppStore for only $1.99.
