As if to echo Samsung's hopes, and that of others, that more tablets will sell this year, a report has arisen saying that display shipments will rise.

According to DigiTimes, or rather “observers” that sent it information, LCD TV shipments have already gone up 25% on year in January, to 19 million.

Tablet panels went up by a landslide though. Shipments reached 20 million in January, 120% increase compared to January 2012.

7-inch panels attained 9 million, which left 10.1-inch and larger screens with the remaining 11 million.

Based on these figures, it is foreseen that 2013 will keep going higher in terms of sales.

Which is ironic because Samsung Display and LG display are both expected to lose some of their market share. Currently, they hold a cumulative 55%. 2013 could end with them at 50%.
