Samsung, one of the leading mobile phone makers in the world, announced recently that it would release on the market a Games Edition of its successful Samsung F480 touchscreen mobile phone. Following other versions of the device, such as 'La Fleur' and 'Rockstar Edition', the new model, aimed mainly at gaming enthusiasts, comes preloaded with a number of five games.

According to the news on the web, the new Samsung F480 Games Edition comes with full versions of the aforementioned titles, which are reported to include “Who wants to be a millionaire 2009,” “Pacman,” “Millennium Poker,” “Dr Brain” and “Bejeweled Twist.” Users will surely be able to download other games as well, a feature meant to leverage the gaming experience even more.

About three months ago the phone maker announced that it had managed to sell more than 5 million Samsung F480 TouchWiz units in the first ten months since the launch of the handset, and the different versions of the device might have boosted sales even more. One thing that is sure is that the company is determined to make a great impression on the market during the ongoing year, as it is trying to take the first position in some segments from the leading maker Nokia.

The specs of the new Samsung F480 Games Edition are reported to be the same as those on the original model, including the QVGA touchscreen display, the TouchWiz user interface and the 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, face detection, Smile Shot and video recording capabilities, as well as Bluetooth and HSDPA 7.2 Mbps connectivity. In addition, the device also sports a microSD memory card for additional storage space.

The Samsung F480 Games Edition is expected to become available on the European market starting mid-June. It seems that only a limited number of units will come to the shelves, with a price tag set at €399.
