The Indian division of Samsung Mobile has released the U900 Soul phone, one of the high-end devices prepared by Samsung to conquer the global mobile market in 2008. Already available in several countries across Europe, the U900 is a slim and very good-looking slider that also packs many high-end features.

At only 12.9 millimeters in thickness, U900 Soul is a slider phone coming with a "Magical Touch" navigation pad that allows users to have a unique mobile experience, thanks to its ability to be transformed according to their needs: the touch-enabled pad can take the role of a music controller, photo camera controller and so on. Another highlight of the new handset is its 5 Megapixel camera with flash, image stabilizer, video recording ant other nice abilities.

Other features of the U900 include a 2.2 inch display with 16 million colors and a QVGA resolution (240 x 320 pixels), tri-band GSM connectivity as well as HSDPA for data transfer speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology that offers an exquisite music experience, Bluetooth, FM Radio with RDS, email and Web capabilities, microSD card support and so on.

In case you want to see more live images with U900, you can check out the Softpedia live report from CeBIT 2008, found at this address.

Samsung U900 Soul is available as of now across India, but we don't know exactly where users can buy it from. Anyway, we do know that the fashionable slider has a retail price of 25,000 INR - the equivalent of $590 or 380 Euros. It is $150 lower as compared to the retail price European users can buy the U900 for, hence Indian users should take advantage of it.

According to Business Standard, besides the U900, Samsung will release nine new devices in the following months, including the i780 smartphone and the dual-SIM D780.
