Samsung has announced recently the availability of its latest handset, SCH-c417 - through Cingular Wireless.

The quad-band (850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 Mhz) flip phone measures 93 x 48 x 16, 5 mm and weighs about 80 grams (including the battery). It features a mediocre built-in VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity and advanced messaging capabilities, like Yahoo! and AOL for instant messaging. Also, users can experience great fun with tons of games and applications provided by the Java support (J2ME).

The 2 inch internal 65k color display provides enough space for a multitude of multimedia applications, or gameplay. The external display gives users access to the clock, status or Caller ID feature. While the handset is a low-end phone, it still manages to offer customers the functionality desired, but a lower standard.

The Samsung SCH-c417 will be available in a charcoal grey metallic finish from Cingular. In addition, the handset will be available in vibrant red metallic finish at other retail partner locations as well as online. Its price, after discounts, will be no more than US $30 with a 2 year service contract.
