Mobile phone users in the United Kingdom can now enjoy yet another new handset that has just become available for purchase in the country, the Samsung S5600, also known as the Samsung Preston. The new touchscreen-enabled device is available for purchase through the wireless carrier Orange, which seems to be the first operator in the country to launch it.

UK users who would like to get the new device without a contract agreement will find it available for a price tag of £159.50 ($258) on a pay-as-you-go basis. At the same time, the Samsung S5600 Preston can also be acquired for free by those who will sign a new two-year contract agreement with the carrier, yet a minimum £20 per month plan is required. According to the news on the Web, while only the black variant of the device is now available for purchase, it seems that the wireless carrier will also launch white and pink versions in the near future.

The new Samsung S5600 Preston was introduced on the market a while ago, along with the South Korean mobile phone maker's S5230 handset, which is also known as the Samsung Star or Toco Lite. The new device comes to Orange's customers with a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display that supports 16 million colors, and also features a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper. In addition, the mobile phone includes a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 8GB of additional storage space.

Among the features that the handset includes we can count the Shazam’s “Find Music” service, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity and accelerometer, as well as a slim and compact design. In addition, the handset comes with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface, along with a full Internet browser. Those who would like to learn more on the phone or to already purchase it can find it listed on Orange UK's website, here.
