It seems that Samsung will soon introduce a new entry-level phone dubbed S3500, which is just a stylish slider that features rather modest specifications, meaning that the mobile phone maker would rely more on design and price tag to make the device appeal most to users. For what it’s worth, the device seems to resemble a lot the company's very popular U900 Soul.

The spec list of the new phone shows that it comes with support for quad-band GSM/EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) frequency standards, while also including connectivity via Bluetooth and USB port. The Samsung S3500 sports a QVGA display with 262K colors, yet the size of the screen is unknown at this time.

The rest of the features of the new Samsung handset also include a 2-megapixel camera, 35MB of internal memory, complemented by a MicroSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The device will also come with multimedia functionality, including a media player and FM radio. The new Samsung S3500 is reported to measure only 99.9 x 48.0 x 13.9 mm.

According to the news, the mobile phone maker would plan to release the new Samsung S3500 on both the European market and on the Asian one, where it would be launched under the Anycall brand. Moreover, the reports also state that the new phone has already seen FCC approval, which would mean that either AT&T or T-Mobile might add the handset to their offering in the United States.

Whether the device will hit the US market or not is still subject to speculation, as the company hasn't disclosed any details on its plans on the matter, yet it is expected to say a word or two at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which is to be held in Barcelona, only two weeks from now.
