It appears that Sprint plans to deploy another software update for Samsung Replenish, but the maintenance update will only be released next week.

Unfortunately, this is not the long-awaited Gingerbread upgrade, instead it is a minor software update that fixes a few bugs and issues.

According to the guys over at AndroidCentral, the EF27 update for the Samsung Replenish is scheduled to be released on July 18.

As the official Sprint document that leaked recently, the update will bring Baseband version to S:M580.06 x.EF27 and Build number to FROYO.EF27.

In addition, Samsung Replenish update EF27 fixes and adds the following:

- Additional LED enhancements; - Roaming alert prior to activation; - ##RTN# attribute (Life Byte) resetting to all zeros with MR2/ED23.

Furthermore, it looks like the update will be pushed to existing Samsung Replenish customers OTA (over the air), which means that there's no option for manual update for the moment.

As soon as the update is pushed to one's smartphone, a notification will pop-up on the display that will recommend users to download and install a software update.

Simply following the steps on the screen will insure users that they have the latest firmware available on their Samsung Replenish devices.

Samsung Replenish was introduced by Sprint back in May with Android 2.2 Froyo out-of-the-box, but customers are already waiting for the carrier to confirm a future Gingerbread upgrade.

EF27 is the second maintenance software update, after ED23 was deployed only a few days after the phone's official launch.

The ED23 minor update added a few improvements and solved some issues:

- Makes LED notification light blink to show a missed alert; - Improves performance in roaming coverage; - Improves device security; - Resolves issue with Bluetooth email sync functionality.

Until Samsung and Sprint decide if the Replenish will receive the Gingerbread upgrade, owners of the smartphone can only hope every time a new update is announced.
