The recently announced SCH-W689 is the first clamshell bada phone manufactured by Samsung and comes with a slew of interesting features.

Even though the phone's flip form factor marks a first for Samsung's bada series phone, the SCH-W689 is also the first to support dual-SIM capability.

To make things even more interesting, Samsung attached two medium-size touchscreens that can be used like any other standard touch display.

According to the guys over at SammyHub, the phone is also known as Samsung Duos W689 and will soon be released in China.

Although it comes with both 3G EVDO Rev. A for CDMA and 2G for GSM, it is highly unlikely to be available in other markets.

It appears that the rest of the phone's technical features indicates that the Samsung Duos W689 is a mid-budget bada smartphone.

In this regard, the clamshell is equipped with a low-performance 455MHz processor and packs a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

A 3.2-megapixel photo snapper is also available for those who want to take pictures while on the go, which also allows users to record videos.

As we already mentioned, the phone comes with dual touchscreens: main 3.2-inch display and a secondary 3-inch screen.

Other highlights of the phone include built-in GPS receiver, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2D support and 1500mAh battery.

Samsung has recently unveiled a new range of bada 2.0 phones during IFA 2011, but none of them were clamshells.

Given the phone's low features we can safely assume that the Samsung Duos W689 will be limited to China and possibly a few other emerging markets, such as India.

No word on the phone's price yet, but the Duos W689 might be offered for a heavily subsidized price in case one of the Chinese major carriers decides to pick it.
