It seems that Samsung decided to launch its first Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab in Korea on November 3rd. While there's no official information regarding the imminent release of the product, reliable sources are pointing to an upcoming release for the next week.

Samsung Galaxy Tab has been previously slated for release on October 14th, but it was delayed as the Korean handset manufacturer said that they want to offer improved localized apps.

Coincidence or not, the delay announcement was made after the weird “Porn. Button” case was enough publicized on the Internet.

Either Samsung wanted to be sure that nothing odd will show up after the final translation from English is done, or they were simply telling the truth about offering improved localized apps, as the main reason behind the delay.

According to Samsung Hub, the Galaxy Tab Android tablet will be available from SK Telecom carrier for an undisclosed price.

The Korean carrier will sell the tablet under a different name, SHW-M180S, which probably suits better for the South-Korean market.

Just to refresh your memory, Samsung Galaxy Tab is powered by a ARM Cortex A8 processor, 1 GHz processor (PowerVR SGX540 graphics) and runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform.

The device comes with a 7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen (600 x 1024 pixels resolution), multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, three-axis gyro sensor, touch-sensitive controls, proximity sensor for auto turn-off, and Swype text input.

Other key features of the Android tablet include: 3.0-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging and video capture capabilities (720x480@30fps), secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps compatibility, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS support, 16 or 32 GB storage, 512 MB RAM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
