A phone capable of delivering fast data speeds on Optus’ new 4G network

Galaxy S III is undoubtedly a great smartphone, some even considering it the best mobile phone of the year, and users at Optus in Australia can take full advantage of its features on their wireless carrier’s 4G network.

The carrier has just made the 4G LTE flavor of Galaxy S III available for purchase on its network, after having it on pre-order for the past few weeks.

The handset comes not only with the great hardware included inside Galaxy S III, but also with Google’s latest flavor of Android, as well as with support for the wireless carrier’s fast network.

Of course, it all comes at a price, as Optus launched the new device for $4 monthly repayments on its $80 per month plan, with unlimited voice calls on Optus, unlimited SMS, unlimited access to social networks, and 2GB of mobile internet.

Other options are also available for the carrier’s subscribers, on monthly plans ranging from $30 to $60 per month, and monthly repayments from $21 down to $6.

Galaxy S III 4G arrives on shelves with a 4.8" HD Super AMOLED Display with Gorilla Glass 2, while being powered by a 1.4GHz Exynos Quad-Core processor from Samsung.

The smartphone also sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot to expand the available storage, along with support for HSPA+ / LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0 HS, and GPS + GLONASS.

Moreover, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto-focus and support for full HD video recording, as well as with a 1.9MP camera on the front for making video calls.
