Samsung UK has just announced that the Galaxy Note will go on sale in the UK beginning today, at Carphone Warehouse.

Given the fact that the retailer is holding the launch event right now, no pricing options have been revealed yet.

However, those who can't wait until Carphone Warehouse goes live with the Galaxy Note, can order the smartphone from Phones4U or Clove.

Phones4U is now offering the Galaxy Note with Orange long term contract, whereas Clove UK retails the smartphone for no less than £594 ($950 or €690).

It is also worth mentioning that Android fans attending the launch event are offered the chance to win £10,000 ($16,000 or €11,600) worth of Samsung kit.

The Galaxy Note is Samsung new Android flagship smartphone, but if we look back and notice how fast the Korean handset manufacturer is launching new powerful devices, it will be a wonder if the Galaxy Note will still be the company's “flagship”smartphone by the end of the year.

At least the superphone comes with a new technology that allows users to cut&paste pictures, hand-write emails, share links and more with the help of a smart pen called S Pen stylus.

A similar technology was included on the HTC Flyer tablet, but experience is quite different.

Fortunately, unlike HTC who asks Flyer users to purchase the Scribe digital pen separately for around $80 (£50 or €58), Samsung Galaxy Note is delivered with the S Pen stylus in the sales package.

The Galaxy Note comes with a huge 5.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 800 x 1280 pixels resolution support, which is protected by Gorilla Glass display.

There's also a very decent 1.4 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, a Mali-400MP graphics processing unit, an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
