The Galaxy S variant for KT carrier has just been confirmed by one of the carrier's officials for next month. Previously announced for September, there's no information regarding the reason of this small delay.

Samsung Galaxy S is currently sold in South Korea only by SKT and LG U+ carriers, under different names and features.

Scheduled for a September launch, Samsung Galaxy K will start selling in October, but the exact date hasn't been specified yet buy KT spokeswoman Kim Yoon Jeong.

KT is the sole provider of the Apple's iPhone smartphone, and by adding the Samsung Galaxy K in its offering, it will be the only carrier in South Korea to offer the two best selling smartphones in the country.

Samsung Galaxy S already reached the 1 million units sold milestone this month, thus becoming the most popular smartphone in South Korea, replacing the iPhone.

According to analysts, sales of the Samsung Galaxy K in South Korea will depend on how much Samsung offers in subsidies for the carrier.

Galaxy K is most likely to get the same features as the Samsung Galaxy U, and will probably run Android 2.2 out-of-the-box.

Other key features of the device include: Super AMOLED 3.7-inch screen, TouchWiz 3.0 UI, Multi-touch input method, Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, Touch-sensitive controls, and Proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

The smartphone will be powered by an ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, and it will be HSDPA and HSUPA compatible.

It boasts a 5.0-megapixel camera with autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, and video recording capabilities (720p@30fps), 8 GBstorage, 512 MB RAM, 2GB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

There's no info yet regarding the price or the exact launch date.
