Today, wireless carrier MetroPCS announced the launch of a new mobile phone on its airwaves, the Samsung Freeform II (SCH-r360), which is aimed at offering great messaging capabilities to all those users looking for a device with enhanced features in this area.

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT display, complemented by a four-row QWERTY keyboard in a candybar form factor.

Being a messaging device, the handset sports text and picture messaging capabilities, so as to keep users close to their friends and families in a simple and fast manner.

Moreover, the Samsung Freeform II comes with stereo Bluetooth technology, so that users can enjoy safe, hands-free calling.

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper so that its owners can snap pictures while on the go.

“The Freeform II also has a multitude of MetroPCS services to always stay connected, including access to MetroNavigator GPS navigation while on the road,” the wireless services provider notes.

The handset comes with a series of productivity features, including Customizable Shortcut Buttons, One Touch Messaging, One Touch Calendar and One Touch Speakerphone, as well as with MP3 Music Player, and Widget Support.

Other specs of the new device include support for CDMA 800MHz/ 1900 MHz, AWS Band 1700/2100 MHz connectivity, a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 16GB of additional storage space, and Hearing Aid Compatibility: M4/T3.

The Samsung Freeform II (SCH-r360) packs a standard 3.7 Volt 1000mAh Lithium Ion Battery that can offer up to 5 hours of talk time, or up to 550 hours of standby time. The new mobile phone measures 2.12” x 4.13” x 0.59” and weighs in at 3.81 ounces.
