Wireless carrier T-Mobile is expected to soon add to its offering a new mobile phone that runs under Google's Android operating system, the Samsung Behold II, which is now reportedly slated for an official unveiling on November 12, 2009. Samsung and T-Mobile are set to announce the handset officially on that day, although the actual launch of the phone will only take place on November 18.

However, the fresh handheld will come as a great addition to T-Mobile's Android lineup, which already includes popular names like G1 (HTC Dream), myTouch 3G (THC Magic) or Motorola CLIQ. The price tag for the Behold II has reportedly been set at $249.99 upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the carrier, which might seem a little high.

Even so, the Samsung Behold II has a lot of capabilities and features to deliver to its users that should prove it deserves its price tag. A 3.2-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display is one of these features, accompanied by a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, aGPS, and 16GB of internal memory space.

But the most appealing feature of this handset seems to be the TouchWiz user interface that Samsung packed inside it, which offers cube-based navigation. The Behold II is the first Android phone from the maker to come to the market with this UI, although its Windows Mobile-powered handsets have seen it for quite some time now.

The TouchWiz on Behold II is a little different from what Samsung included in its other mobile phones, but different means good this time, and a look at the video below will show you how the cubic interface runs on the upcoming Android device (the quality of this video suffers a little). November 12 is only a week ahead, and more details on what the Samsung Behold II is capable of, as well as on its nice looking UI, should emerge at that time, so watch this space for more updates on the matter.

I ordered mine today so hope to get started within the next few days. Can't wait to take a crack at the Samsung Behold II. From what I read on http://www.Behold-Android.com, The Behold II include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, a 5-megapixel camera, and up 16GB expandable memory via the microSD slot. Samsung stated that the smartphone follows on the success of its Samsung Behold and takes it to the next level with the addition of Android, bringing support for Google services and Exchange ActiveSync.
