Samsung Armani, one of the most
fashionable mobile phones created by Samsung, will apparently be available in
Taiwan at the end of April, for the price of 33,800
Taiwan dollars (about 1,116 US dollars).
Designed in collaboration with Giorgio Armani, the famous Italian fashion company, Samsung Armani combines elegance and simplicity with the South Korean producer's advanced technology into a sleek and slim device.
According to
DigiTimes, Mr. Jae Hyun Ryu, director of Samsung Taiwan's mobile communications unit, confirmed the future release of the Armani phone, so Taiwanese mobile users in need of good looking handsets will soon have a new device that they can pick-up.
Samsung Armani measures only 87.5 x 54.5 x 10.5 millimeters, weighs 85 grams and comes with a full touchscreen interface that, together with the 2.6 inches TFT display (240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors) will offers users a
unique mobile experience.
The Armani phone features tri-band GSM connectivity (900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), GPRS, EDGE, Music player (MP3, ACC and ACC+), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0, email, WAP 2.0 browser, document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF), organizer, Java MIDP 2.0 and a 3.15 Megapixel camera with video recording. The handset is powered by a 880 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 6 hours of talk-time and up to 220 hours of stand-by time.
There will only be 3,000 Samsung Armani phones in Taiwan and, most probably, they will be sold unlocked, so their owners will be able to use them with any Taiwanese mobile carrier.
With more than 22 million subscribers and a mobile penetration rate of over 100%, Taiwan is among the most mature Asian mobile markets. Already available across Europe, Samsung Armani will surely be one of the
hottest phones to come in Taiwan this year.
