Research In Motion and SFR announced today the addition of the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone to the carrier's offering. The handset will become available for purchase from the SFR online store starting January 31st, while at SFR retail outlets the device will come in February 2009.

As many of you already know, BlackBerry Curve 8900 is the smallest smartphone in the BlackBerry lineup, offering a sleek, refined design that is also comfortable to the touch. The handset sports a 480 x 360 high-resolution display, as well as a fast processor for enhanced performance levels. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone will be available for €99 including taxes coupled with SFR’s Illimythics service plans or for €109 excluding taxes with SFR Business Team Pro service plans.

The handset sports a full-AZERTY keyboard and is able to provide impressive user experience as it allows customers to stay connected at all times while also being productive and entertained. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 features industry-leading email and messaging capabilities, which come alongside its powerful organizer, web browser and multimedia applications. Other apps for both professional and personal use are also included with the device.

The specification list of the smartphone includes built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, media player, and microSD/SDHC card slot with support for up to 16GB of memory storage. The handset supports SFR’s geolocalisation and navigation service, “SFR Find & Go,” allowing users to search for points-of-interest like restaurants, cinemas, or subway stations, both in France and the rest of Europe.

SFR announced the following service plan offers: Business Mail Illimité, for €1/month for a 2-month period with the ‘Illimythics 3G+’ and ‘Pro’ service plans, as well as free with the ‘Illimythics Pro 5 hours and more’ service plans; the SFR Find & Go is available at €1/month for a 2-month period with the ‘Illimythics 3G+’ and ‘Pro’ service plans.
