S! Town 3D Mobile Community Platform from Gemini Mobile

- The new product is available on the Sharp and Toshiba handsets from SoftBank.

By: Sergiu Gatlan, Communications News Editor

Who would have thought mobiles are going to get 3D platforms this fast? I didn’t, but the development team from Gemini Mobile Technologies, a top wireless software developer, has managed to do it anyway. The new technology is going to be available on the Sharp and Toshiba mobile phones delivered by the Japanese mobile carrier SoftBank Mobile, and is
going to be called S! Town and will offer its users the possibility to communicate, chat or shop through their mobile devices.

Together with this rich graphical community deployed on the SoftBank wireless network, the software developing company has also announced the launch of yet another SoftBank service, Arrange Mail, that will have as the engine the HyperScale Messaging Center and the HyperScale core technology they have been working on.

Ted Matsumoto, the executive vice president and chief strategy officer of SoftBank Mobile, has said that "we are pleased to launch S! TOWN, the 3D community platform for wireless devices. S! TOWN and Arrange Mail are revolutionary services that will give our customers a new way of interacting and communicating in their daily lives. We expect these services to be a forerunner in the marketplace by changing the way wireless users interact with one another and their devices."

From the Gemini Mobile Technologies, the chief executive officer and founder Scott Driggers, has declared that "we are pleased to have the opportunity to help SoftBank Mobile deploy next-generation mobile communications services. As more people worldwide rely on the wireless phone as their main communication medium, they demand richer and more intuitive ways to interact with their devices. Our eXplo platform is a bold new way of giving users the ability to explore and discover new content and communities via their phones. As wireless devices become increasingly essential to people everywhere, we will continue developing innovative software that powers new generations of wireless connectivity."

The new service launched by Gemini Mobile Technology comes as another win for them on the mobile services market after the deals signed with Nextel International in Central & South America, FarEasTone in Taiwan, SmarTone-Vodafone in Hong Kong and Sferia in Poland.
