Leaked two weeks ago in Japan, it appears that Sony Ericsson Nozomi has got the green light for a worldwide release.

According to the guys over at XperiaBlog, the Nozomi will be launched globally as model number LT26i/LT26a.

Although the information is tagged with the 'rumor' status, the same tipster that has gotten the details for XperiaBlog is responsible for other information that proved pretty much accurate.

Sony Ericsson Nozomi will be the company's next Android flagship smartphone, as the device is rumored to be delivered with the superior hardware configuration.

Initially, the phone will be launched in Japan via NTT DoCoMo as SO-02D, but will soon be released in select markets around the world.

The upcoming Sony Ericsson Nozomi will be equipped with a single core 1.4 Ghz Snapdragon S2 MSM8655T processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU (graphics processing unit).

We could assume that the Nozomi will run Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, but given the fact that the smartphone is expected to hit shelves in November, it won't come as a surprise to see it upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Furthermore, the Nozomi will come with a large 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and micro-SIM slot, just like the iPhone 4.

On related news, it appears that Sony Ericsson cancelled the development of AT&T's SK19i Android smartphone.

Also known as an improved version of the Xperia ray, the SK19i was discovered a week ago via a benchmark.

Dubbed Xperia ray pro, the SK19i was spotted running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on a 1GHz processor.

Unfortunately, for unknown reasons Sony Ericsson decided that the QWERTY slider will not see the light of day and cancelled the development of the smartphone.

Stay tuned for more updates on the matter as we receive word about Sony Ericsson's upcoming products.
